Google’s Marshmallow running on 2.3% of all Android devices – Report

THE Google latest version of Google’s Android operating system Marshmallow is now running on 2.3% of all Android devices. Android Lollipop is the most widely-used version of Android, with the OS running on 36.1% devices.
Marshmallow adoption may look poor, however, it still appears to have picked up pace in the last month with several OEMs like Samsung and LG rolling out Android Marshmallow update to their devices.

The company had barely touched 1% in February.
As for the earlier versions of the Android OS, KitKat stands at 34.3%, Jelly Bean at 22.3%, Ice Cream Sandwich at 2.3% and Gingerbread at 2.6%.

The penetration of the latest Android version appears a stark contrast if one compares it to the latest version of iOS.
According to latest figures released by Apple, iOS 9 is installed on 75% of active iOS devices, as measured by the App Store on January 11.
