Persons With Disabilities Can Boost Economy – Hacey Boss

Hacey Health Initiative and Access Bank Plc on Wednesday called for the inclusion of persons with disabilities in the drive for national development.

Accordng to The Punch, The Project Director, Hacey Health Initiative, Mr. Isaiah Owolabi, said economic activities would boom if physically-challenged persons were involved in the national development process.

Owolabi spoke in Lagos at an event organised by HHI in partnership with Access Bank Plc and the United State Consulate to celebrate ‘disability heroes’ in the country.

He said, “It is very important to seriously think of starting to include people with disabilities in all development agendas. The world cannot afford to have unproductive citizens in their countries just because they are excluded based on their disability.

“People with disability have a precious resource that needs to be embraced, recognised and respected everywhere and at all times.”

Similarly, the Group Head, Corporate Communication and External Affairs, Access Bank Plc, Mr. Amaechi Okobi, said the concept of inclusion strategies for physically challenged persons must be respected by all for equal participation in the economy.
