The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has seized 278 kilogram of drugs ranging from cannabis, heroine, cocaine among others in Abia.
The NDLEA Abia Commandant, Bamidele Akingbade, made this known during the parade of three suspects at Aba on Tuesday.
Mr Akingbade hinted that the seizures were made in the last quarter of the 2015 while about 74 suspects had been arrested and about 50 kilogram of cannabis were seized.
The hoodlums have specialized in the act of carrying illicit drugs inside the boots of the vehicle where they dispersed them to buyers.
However, luck ran out on Louis Nwabata, a 30- year-old man who claimed that he buys the cannabis from the roadside at Ariaria market and engaged the under age children to sell it for him.
The State Commissioner of Police, Joshak Habila, hinted that the Abia Command would not leave any stone unturned in its commitment to rid the state of criminals and mischief makers.
The CP assured Abia residents and visitors to the state of adequate security. He urged the public to be cognizant of their environments and report any unwarranted lurking and loitering within their domain.
He said that residents should join hands to assist them in any way possible to prevent crime and ensure that they play safe by adhering to security tips.
