The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has appointed the immediate past Governor of Kano state, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, as the National Chairman of the party.
The NEC at its meeting held at Transcorp Hilton on Thursday in Abuja also appointed former Senate spokesman, Ajibola Basiru, as the party’s National Secretary.
Meanwhile, the National Legal Adviser of the party, Ahmed El-Marzuk, has resigned from the party’s National Working Committee (NWC).
El-Marzuk, it was gathered, resigned his appointment on Wednesday, following insistence by some of his colleagues that he could no longer be in office due to some allegations against him.
It is expected that his replacement would be announced at the ongoing NEC meeting.
