Group known as Pipeline Right of Way Surveillance Providers Forum has appealed to the Management of Nigerian National Petroleum Cooperation (NNPC) to immediately intervene and settle the salaries and entitlements of all the community guards covering from Koton Karfe to Kaduna axis.
The group in a statement issued in Kaduna and signed by the Chairman of the forum, Alhaji Ibrahim Salihu stated that the community guards’ workers were being owed the MRS OIL & GAS 21 months salary arrears which resulted the workers to face untold hardship
The statement said series of letters of complaint have been written to the management of the NNPC since last year with a view to looking into their problems and solve the issue, but, yet nothing has been done in such regards.
The Pipelines Right of Way Surveillance Providers say they will not relent their efforts to seek their right through meaningful and rightful means, such as appealing to NNPC to come to their aid and put smile on the faces of workers.
While expressing hope that positive interventions will be taken by the NNPC, the forum stressed that, if the management of NNPC fails to address the problem immediately it can kill the morale and zeal of the guard men.
The forum noted with dismay that, while some of their colleagues from Warri axis have been settled, Koton Karfe to Kaduna axis workers have not been paid for almost two years.
