Make-A-Wish Greater Los Angeles Welcomes Yoshikazu Maruyama to Board of Directors
Under Maruyama’s Leadership, SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment Grants Hundreds of Wishes for Children with Critical Illnesses

As Make-A-Wish Greater Los Angeles celebrates its 35th year of granting wishes in Los Angeles County the nonprofit organization has appointed SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment Chairman Yoshikazu Maruyama to its Board of Directors. With a mission to create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses, Make-A-Wish Greater LA has granted nearly 10,000 wishes throughout the city.In 2018 alone, SeaWorld has helped to grant over 200 wishes to children with critical illnesses throughout the United States whose wishes have included meeting penguins, swimming with dolphins and having a stingray experience.

Mr. Maruyama was appointed Chairman of SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment in 2017. Prior to that, Mr. Maruyama was Global Head of Location Based Entertainment for DreamWorks Animation SKG, where he served from 2010 until 2017. From 1995 to 2009, he served various roles at Universal Parks & Resorts including as Senior Vice President of Global Business Development, and as Chief Strategist and Board Director of Universal Studios Japan. Mr. Maruyama also serves on the Board of Trustees and Treasurer of The Buckley School in Sherman Oaks and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Operations Research from Columbia University in New York.
