To support these efforts in the field, PG&E will be dedicating appropriate resources to assist first responders and its customers.

PG&E’s first priority is the safety of customers, employees, contractors and the communities it serves.

As of 9:00 a.m., the fire has burned about 70,000 acres. Approximately 25,000 PG&E customers are currently without power due to the impacts of the Camp Fire. At the request of first responders, PG&E turned off power to some customers as an emergency precaution to support safety and firefighting efforts. Others lost power due to fire-damaged equipment.

As a safety precaution, PG&E also turned off gas service to about 12,000 customers in and around the City of Paradise.

PG&E has provided an initial electric incident report to the Safety and Enforcement Division of the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC).
