Shortly after being honorably discharged from the Navy, he started a very successful plastics company. At the age of fifty, he sold his business, retired, and traveled the world. Later in life, he became a licensed auctioneer and started an auction company.
At age seventy, he decided to become an author. His first book was his autobiography, titled Garber’s Bench. The Eye of the Seal is his second book, and he is currently working on his third book, titled Jake’s Place.
Dan’s philosophy in life has always been “The harder you work, the luckier you get.” He is currently married to his third wife, Barbara. He has three daughters, Brandi, Mandy, and Lindsay. He has two grandchildren, Lily and Luke.
