Top-Down Analytics Releases a New Report Titled “Liquid Chromatography Survey in China: Chinese Scientists Share Their Preferences”
LOS ANGELES, Sept. 20, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Top-Down Analytics (TDA), a market research and consulting firm based in Los Angeles, is pleased to announce the release of its latest study titled, “A Liquid Chromatography Survey in China: Chinese Scientists Share Their Preferences” The report is based on a survey of 223 scientists who use HPLC, UHPLC, or LC/MS instruments in China, as well as information on related products such as consumables, chemicals, software, and service.

The industry in which the largest number of the respondents were employed was pharmaceuticals (26%), followed by food & agriculture (22%), government research & testing (19%), chemicals (14%), and academia (13%). With respect to laboratory function, 31% of the participants performed analytical services, followed by quality assurance/control (26%), and basic and applied research (16% and 15%, respectively).
Of the key LC technologies, more than 80% of the scientists surveyed indicated having at least one standard LC system in their labs, while nearly 60% reported having an LC/MS system, and slightly more than 50% a UHPLC system. The top two reasons provided by participants for purchasing a new LC system were the need for a new application and replacement of an existing system.
