FG earmarks ₦700 million to rebuild schools, clinics in Benue

Federal Government

Executive Director, Presidential Committee on Victim Support Fund, Professor Sunday Ochoche, has disclosed that the committee earmarked ₦700 million for the reconstruction of destroyed public institutions in Benue State.

Ochoche, who made this known yesterday in Gbajimba, Guma Local Government Area of the state during the flag-off of the reconstruction exercise, said the intervention would be in three local government areas— Guma, Logo and Agatu.

He also explained that “28 public institutions will be rebuilt and 23 of them will be schools, while five will be health clinics.

“These projects will be completed within three months and in line with specifications given the committee by the state government.”

In his speech Governor Samuel Ortom, represented by his Deputy, Benson Abounu, appealed to the committee to build and equip the clinics, while the state government will stock them with drugs.

Ortom commended the committee for its quick response to his request, stressing that it risked the lives of its officials by visiting the affected areas, even when the killings were raging.
