FIRS shuts NNPC subsidiary, others over tax default
The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has sealed off the premises of companies defaulting in tax payments in Lagos and Benin, in continuation of its enforcement exercise.
A key establishment affected by the exercise in Benin, Edo state, is the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company Limited, NPDC, a subsidiary of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC.
The FIRS enforcement team led by Mrs. Anita Erinne, sealed the office over an alleged tax liabilities of N5.463 billion.
Elsewhere in Lagos the agency’s enforcement team led by Mr. Umar Bukar Gana, on Wednesday, sealed the premises of Repton Nigeria Limited at Ikeja, over an alleged tax debt of N851.653 million.
The team also shut the premises of Matbeny Holdings Limited in Victoria Island over an alleged tax liabilities of N26.187 million and Broadview Engineering Limited, also in Victoria Island alleging N35 million default in taxes.
Earlier on Tuesday, the team sealed off the offices of Pinehill Limited at Onikan, and Livingproof Limited, all in Lagos, for similar offence.
Other firms in Lagos sealed on similar allegation include Enaled Business Solutions Limited, Gennex Technogies Limited and Topoyz Lodge Limited.
