Ecobank Nigeria’s Executive Director, Consumer Banking, Carol Oyedeji, has reiterated that the convenience of opening and operating an Ecobank Xpress Account is putting banking at “your fingertips.”

The Xpress Account is a mobile based digital account that affords the customer many of the services available to a regular account holder.

Responding to media questions in Lagos, she emphasised that opening an Xpress Account takes less than five minutes and does not require any form of documentation being a tier-one mobile wallet account. It can be opened on the Ecobank Mobile App by smartphone users after download or through *326# USSD code for feature phone users.

Explaining further, Oyedeji said Ecobank is focused on leading the consumer banking industry by leveraging its robust digital channels to drive financial inclusion for the un-banked in the different parts of Nigeria – urban, semi-urban and rural areas. In her words the benefits of this account type include simple account opening process and ease of transacting. The account can be funded through transfers from accounts in Nigerian Banks or by simply paying in cash at one of Ecobank Xpress points sited within Agent locations nationwide.
