First Bank Ibukun Awosika to deliver ARMTI’s 20th lecture in Kwara
The Chairman, First Bank of Nigeria Limited, Mrs. Ibukun Awosika, will on Friday deliver the 20th annual lecture of the Agricultural and Rural Management Training Institute in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.
Awosika will speak on ‘Promoting agripreneurship in the green alternative: A catalyst for national security and sustainable development,’ according to a statement by ARMTI’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Mayowa Gidado.
It said the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Thelma Farms, Mr. Babatunde Ogunyemi, would be a discussant during the lecture.
Gidado said the programme would serve as an avenue for ARMTI to contribute to policy development to enhance better management of the agricultural sector in Nigeria.
According to him, the programme is expected to attract policy makers, practitioners, academics and other stakeholders to brainstorm on the identified topical issue in the sector that has been placed on the front burner this year.
Gidado said, “This year, there is a focus on women and youth as the emphasis is on promotion of agripreneurship as the boost for food security, income generation and job creation for speedy development.
“The lecture series has attracted several notable personalities in the past such as Maj.Gen. Agbazika Innih; Rear Admiral Murtala Nyako; a former Kwara State Governor, who is currently the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki; Dr. Ishrait Husain (World Bank); Dr. Louise Setswaelo (Country Representative, Food and Agricultural Organisation Country); and former President Olusegun Obasanjo.”
