Yesterday in Ondo State was an exchange of words between the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) on an alleged plot to rig the November 26, governorship election.
The PDP, in a statement alleged that the opposition party in the state is sewing illegal Army Uniforms for its political thugs.
The statement which was signed by its Director of Publicity, Mr. Ayo Fadaka also alleged that APC and another opposition party are presently collecting voter cards from electorate.
But, APC Publicity Secretary, Omo’ba Abayomi Adesanya said the accusation is laughable, stressing that it is PDP who was planning to rig the election.
He alleged that PDP is currently recruiting and training snipers in the state ahead of the poll.
Adesanya also noted it is only PDP who is holding series of meetings with the people by luring them to sell their PVCs .
According to him, PDP in connivance with Nigeria with one of the security agencies in the state are currently training snipers and we have forwarded a petition to the appropriate place for proper investigation on the matter.
According to Fadaka, the aim of the opposition party is to intimidate eligible voters so as to be able to rig on election day.
Fadaka said the opposition parties have engaged garment makers contracted to make available Army Uniforms of different sizes for use by their thugs to enable them alter proceedings and manipulate election during and after voting on election day.
He further said in the statement that the tailors handling the sowing project are currently working from two neighbouring states.
According to him,” members of one of the parties participating in the November 26th gubernatorial election have stock-piled arms in a location within the state”
Fadaka, however, warned people of the state against activities of members of the opposition party who have been collecting the PVC of potential voters for keeps on the pretext that it will qualify them for food items that would be supplied as palliative to cushion the effect of the present economic crunch.
While disclosing that PVCs are already being dubiously collected from potential voters in Akoko, Ile-oluji and Odigbo among others areas, the ruling party said
His words : “It is important for the people to know that anyone that ask for their PVC as condition to fulfil a promise is only out to steal from them and deprive them of their voting right.
