The Plateau State government has confirmed two cases of Lassa fever with three unconfirmed cases being investigated at the Lassa Fever Treatment centre, Irrua Edo State.
Plateau State Commissioner of Health, Dr. Kunden Deyin at a press briefing in Jos said seven samples were earlier taken to Irrua in which two returned positive.
Deyin said the first victim was a student of University of Jos, who has already been treated and discharged, while the second patient, a Fulani woman from Riyom is being treated at the Jos University Teaching hospital (JUTH).
