Police quizes 18 suspected cultists in Ikorodu, Lagos

The police in Lagos on Wednesday arrested 18 suspected cultists in Ikorodu, including a teenager, Rilwan Okegbenro. They were arrested in the early hours of Wednesday during raid of criminal hideouts by operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).

According to the police, Okegbenro, 16, alias Rosco, confessed to have participated in last month’s murder of one Olawale Adebayo, 22, behind Wema bank on Shagamu Road, Ikorodu.

The Nation gathered that the teenager mentioned two others names- Ahmed and Taoreed as fleeing gang members who took part in the murder.

Confirming the arrests, the state command’s spokesperson, Dolapo Badmos, a Superintendent of Police (SP) said a manhunt for the two suspects has commenced.

She said aside the teenager’s confession, a brother to the deceased identified as Ishmaila Balogun has identified the suspect as one of the killers.
