British Council celebrates CBN employee with excellent grades
The British Council has recognised an employee of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Paul Oluikpe, for outstanding performance during his study in the United Kingdom.
He was named among 13 other Nigerians who had excellent grades during their studies in British universities.
The winners were named in three categories of Entrepreneurial Award, Social Impact Award and Professional Achievement Award.
The Country Director, British Council, Connie Price, said the second edition of the ‘Study UK Alumni Awards’ was evidence-based and was meant to celebrate the incredible achievements of Nigerians who studied in UK universities.
The award ceremony was recently held in Lagos.
Price said the contributions of the winners to Nigeria would go a long way in raising the profile of British education.
According to the country manager, the alumni awards are a demonstration of the value of the UK education and the impact it is making on Nigeria.
“Through the Study UK Alumni Awards, the British Council is delighted to celebrate the achievements of those students who, on their return, have contributed positively to the development of Nigeria,” she said.
In his remarks, Oluikpe noted that the training he acquired in the UK had helped him to contribute to developmental issues affecting financial institutions and the economy in general.
